Warm Rolled Temperature Effect on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of 18Mn/40Si2CrMo Multilayer Composite Steel

In order to obtain a good strength-plastic/toughness match relationship, 18Mn/40Si2CrMo multilayer composite steels were successfully fabricated by vacuum hot rolling and warm process in this paper. The effects of different temperatures (400–600 °C) on the microstructure mechanical properties steel systematically investigated. result shows that reduces thickness interfacial diffusion layer, which improves bonding strength steel. With increase temperature, total elongation (TEL) increases but ultimate tensile (UTS) decreases. with temperature 500 °C achieves balance plastic UTS TEL are 1.7 GPa 12.5%, respectively. This is due high work-hardening ability deformation twins 18Mn layer precipitates nanoscale carbides 40Si2CrMo obscure dislocation movement.
